A Gritty Farm Kid to a Successful Business Woman
-
Growing up on a family dairy farm in Newport taught me resilience and the value of hard work.
-
The deep connection and love of the hills, valleys and streams of Newport drew me back from my accounting career in Washington DC, where I purchased land by the family farm, built a house and started a family.
-
I was a single Mom. I worked doing accounting for numerous businesses. Working from home when my children were home and at the office while they were in school.
-
When my last child went to college, I started a WBE, Nature's Footprints. I wanted to help manufacturers be green by finding ways to recycle byproducts being landfilled.
-
When my child was bullied in school, I got on the West Canada School Board to effect changes that would benefit all children.
-
When town residents were being denied building permits, I got on the Newport Planning Board to help residents through the permitting and compliance process.
-
When I was retained as a recycling and sustainability consultant for a large utility in NYC, I devised and implemented solutions that gave millions more back to the rate payers of NYC in recycling revenues.
-
My journey has always centered on delivering tangible outcomes.
-
Today, I am ready to serve the 118th District with that same strategic skill, and passionate service. Bringing the voices of Rural NYS to Albany.
